Country Music Museum capital campaign nearing goal
NASHVILLE (AP) — The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's capital campaign is more than three-quarters of the way to its goal.
According to the Nashville nonprofit, the campaign seeks to raise funds for a 200,000-square-foot expansion, at a cost of nearly $100 million.
The expansion is due to be completed in March. The new building will feature classroom spaces, a learning lab, more exhibit space, an 800-seat theater, expanded retail, an event hall and a new home for iconic poster manufacturer Hatch Show Print.
The expanded museum will be integrated into a downtown campus with the new Music City Center and the Omni Hotel.
So far, the museum had raised nearly $78 million in cash and pledges.
