NASHVILLE (AP) - A new automotive supplier plant with 200 new jobs is coming to Athens.

Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty joined HP Pelzer Automotive Systems officials Monday to announce the company will locate a 185,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at the Mt. Company CEO Steve Paladino said Athens in the perfect location for the company to manufacture and supply parts to its automotive partners.

The Athens plant will supply products to numerous auto assembly plants, including several in the Southeast.

Site preparation is beginning this month and the plant is scheduled for completion in September.
