How to become a background character actor on Nashville:

  • Fill out a free talent profile at OnLocationCasting.net.
  • Check daily at the “Nashville Extras” page on Facebook to find out what roles (bartender, musician, restaurant patrons, upscale fund-raiser attendee, Peggy’s neighbor, VIP beautiful women, etc.) are available. It will tell the age, sex and ethnicity they are seeking for each role and what restrictions might apply (new faces only, can’t work if you’ve worked in the past three weeks, etc.).
  • When you select the role(s) that best fit you, email to nashvilleextras@gmail.com with the date for work in the subject line. Include your name and contact information. The night before, you’ll be notified of your role, the final call time for your booking with wardrobe and hair/makeup instructions and directions to the set.

There is a strict no-show and cancellation policy. If you apply for a day job and aren’t there, you won’t be offered again.

Pay is $8 per hour for guaranteed eight hours, plus overtime.
