Saint Thomas Health’s Littrell sets retirement

Saint Thomas Health has announced that long-time health care executive Wes Littrell will retire at the end of the calendar year. Littrell is the chief strategy officer for Saint Thomas Health and chief executive officer of Saint Thomas Health Affiliates.

“It has been my unique pleasure and privilege to work with Wes for the past two years,” said Dr. Mike Schatzlein, President and Chief Executive Officer of Saint Thomas Health. “Wes has a reputation for innovative thinking, integrity and common sense. He has built a remarkable network for us that will serve as the foundation for our efforts in population health management through MissionPoint Health Partners.”

Littrell began his health care career at Humana Hospital in Russellville, Ala., and later served in management roles at Walker Regional Medical Center in Jasper, Ala., and the Montgomery-based Baptist Health System.

In 1986, he became the director of patient business services for Saint Thomas Hospital. During his career at Saint Thomas Health, Littrell was administratively responsible for more than 50 different functions or departments.

In his role as chief strategy officer, he established networks of services, including chest pain, stroke and imaging centers, branded with the Saint Thomas Health identity. Most recently, he represented Saint Thomas Health in crafting a landmark affiliation with Capella Healthcare that resulted in Saint Thomas Health having an equity interest in Capella’s four Middle Tennessee hospitals.

Littrell is on the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Hospital Association and is president of the Middle Tennessee chapter of ACHE. He is the president of the Tennessee eHealth Connect (RHIO) Board of Directors and has had board appointments for many of the joint venture entities of Saint Thomas Health.

Southeast Venture hires Neal as broker

James Neal Jr. has joined local commercial real estate company Southeast Venture, LLC, as a broker.

Neal comes to Southeast Venture from Luckenback Branding & Promotions LLC, a marketing and promotions company with offices in Nashville and Dallas. He founded Luckenback in 2010.

Neal also worked for 18 years as principal and founding partner of KMG Marketing. At KMG, he acted as a national sales manager and creative director, handling key accounts that included Mercedes Benz Financial, the Dallas Mavericks and Blockbuster.

His work experience also includes stints as a consultant for the Wall Street Journal Office Network and as a special projects manager for Box Energy Corporation. He is the son of the late James F. Neal, the Nashville attorney who gained national renown as chief prosecutor of the Watergate case.

Nashville’s Kustelski named CEO of Etix

Etix founder Travis Janovich has selected industry veteran Joe Kustelski to succeed him as the company’s CEO. Etix is the largest privately held ticketing company in North America.

Kustelski becomes Etix CEO after serving as co-founder and head of product and technology at Rockhouse Partners, a digitally focused entertainment agency based in Nashville, which was acquired by Etix in January 2011. Rockhouse co-founder Tawn Albright also will assume an expanded role, becoming executive vice president for Etix, in addition to continuing to manage and grow Rockhouse’s operations.

Kustelski, who had served as Etix’s chief product officer since the company acquired Rockhouse Partners, brings more than 10 years of experience in leading teams that live at the intersection of entertainment, entrepreneurship and technology. In addition to leading product, marketing and technology efforts for Rockhouse, he has held leadership positions at Ticketmaster, idealab, MediaNews Group and Echo (Ticketmaster’s digital marketing agency). He was also the product manager for the 2010 launch of the Nashville Entrepreneur Center.

Albright, who will remain in Nashville, also brings deep industry experience to his role, having previously served as CEO of Echo and vice president and head of corporate development for Ticketmaster.

Hastings Architecture adds four, promotes 1

Hastings Architecture Associates, LLC recently attracted four new team members and promoted another to expand the depth and capacity of the firm.

New Hastings Architecture team members include:

David Cates, who joins as an intern architect. He earned master of architecture from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a degree in landscape architecture from the University of Georgia. Prior to completing his master’s, Cates worked as a design associate with Williams & Associates Land Planners in Athens, Georgia on design development, construction documentation and resolving the technical challenges of projects.

Robert Kown joins Hastings as an intern architect. Kown completed his master of Architecture at University of Tennessee, where he was selected to represent the university by presenting at CriticalMASS, a national architecture symposium for graduate students. Kown was previously a marketing consultant at Southwind Health Partners and an account executive at LaForce + Stevens in New York City.

Aaron Tourtellot also joins Hastings as an intern architect. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Clemson University’s School of Architecture and Design. During his time at Clemson, Tourtellot won Best Portfolio as part of a senior design competition, acted as mentor in the Clemson University Bachelor of Architecture Mentor Program and completed a number of freelance design projects.

Tamie Schofield joins the firm as an administrative assistant. Schofield had previous positions, including executive meetings manager and later convention services manager, at Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center.

Amanda Coulter, who joined Hastings in 2011, has been promoted to junior interior designer.

Medalogix establishes advisory board

Directors of health care technology startup Medalogix recently announced the development of its first advisory board. The seven-member panel includes:

  • Randy Forrest, health care consultant
  • Keith Gregg, chairman & CEO, JRG Ventures
  • Vickie Harris, owner, Continuum Connexions and executive director, LeadingAge Tennessee

  • David Klements, president and CEO, Qualifacts Systems, Inc.
  • Michael Sandwith, vice president of market management and business development, Xerox- Government Healthcare Solutions

Smith named president of national Realtor group

Terry E. Smith CCIM SIOR, executive vice president and partner with Colliers International Nashville, recently assumed the position of president of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors at SIOR’s Fall World Conference in Los Angeles.

Smith became the 69th president of the 72-year-old organization and only the second from Tennessee. SIOR has 3,000 members in 630 cities and 35 countries.

Smith has been active in the Nashville commercial real estate market for more than 30 years. He has served as the president of the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors and as president of the Commercial Division of the Tennessee Association of Realtors.

As President of SIOR, Smith will oversee all aspects of the organization’s worldwide activities.

McNeely Pigott & Fox promotes Neunaber

McNeely Pigott & Fox Public Relations has promoted Katherine Neunaber to associate account executive. She previously was a staff associate.

Neunaber joined MP&F in 2011 and has worked with a variety of client teams, including Kirkland’s, Metro Nashville Airport Authority, Memphis Ryan White TGA Program and Harpeth Hall. While at MP&F, her areas of responsibility have included blogger outreach campaigns, digital monitoring and event planning. She manages the blogger outreach campaign for Kirkland’s, securing posts from influential home décor bloggers around the country each month. Since its inception in May, the campaign has garnered about 3 million impressions for Kirkland’s.

Cabedge adds director of business development

Cabedge Design, LLC, a Web-centric design and alignment marketing firm and an Atiba Company, has hired Courtenay Rogers director of business development and account management.

Rogers was previously the marketing coordinator of a Nashville law firm, and prior to that owned Primarily Rye, a creative branding company with her brother, Cabedge creative director Matthew Rogers.

She will help lead two new Cabedge initiatives -- Nashtag and Atiba University -- bringing the creative and tech community in Nashville together while sharing best practices in all areas of marketing and branding.

Rogers sits on the board of directors of the Nashville American Marketing Association as the programming chair.

Upper Cumberland names Market CFO

Judith Peek-Lee has been named market chief financial officer for Capella-Saint Thomas’ Upper Cumberland health system, which includes River Park Hospital in McMinnville, Highlands Medical Center in Sparta, DeKalb Community Hospital in Smithville and Stones River Hospital in Woodbury.

The new position will provide financial operations leadership to the system and will be a strategic partner with each of the hospital CEOs. The position is based at River Park Hospital.

Peek-Lee comes to Capella from HCA-Physician Services where she has been serving as group director of finance since 2008. Prior to that, she served as CFO at a number of hospitals, including Nashville General, Henderson Hospital in Lexington, and Western State Hospital System in Hopkinsville, KY. She also worked as an auditor for the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet.

Oak Hill School hires communications director

Oak Hill School has hired Katherine Gosney as communications coordinator to manage internal and external communications and to assist with the school’s advancement plan.

Gosney, originally from Memphis, is a University of Tennessee graduate. After earning degree in public relations, Gosney moved to Nashville to take a position with McNeely Pigott & Fox Public Relations. While at MP&F, she worked closely with Oak Hill School.

After working at MP&F, Gosney served as marketing coordinator for social and digital platforms for Tasti D-Lite and Planet Smoothie in Nashville.
