NASHVILLE (AP) — AmSurg says it will spend about $2.35 billion to buy Sheridan Healthcare in a cash and stock deal that adds physician outsourcing services to the ambulatory surgery center operator's portfolio.

NASHVILLE (BUSINESS WIRE) - AmSurg Corp. (Nasdaq: AMSG) today announced the pricing of $250 million in aggregate principal amount of its 5.625% senior notes due 2020 (the “Senior Notes”). The Senior Notes will be senior unsecured obligations of the Company and will be guaranteed by substantially all of the Company’s subsidiaries that guarantee its senior secured credit facility and senior secured notes due 2020.

9. Study finds women underrepresented in big Tennessee firms -

NASHVILLE (AP) — A study has found that women remain underrepresented in corporate leadership posts at publicly traded companies in Tennessee.

The report found that more than 91 percent of the 617 corporate directors were men at a time when women made up 48 percent of the Tennessee work force. Of the 72 public corporations, 46 percent had no women directors.
