DENVER (AP) — So about that swipe P.K. Subban took at the speedy forward causing Nashville so much grief.

Only hours after setting a franchise record for single-season points last week, the Predators returned to their Centennial Sportsplex practice rink.

Pekka Rinne finished with 32 saves.

21. In Hartman, Preds get player they loved to hate -

When the Predators played Chicago for the first time earlier this season, they were carefully protecting a one-goal lead in the closing minutes before Ryan Hartman blew everything up.

The feisty forward, then a member of the Blackhawks, simply snatched the stick of Nashville defenseman Matt Irwin – the two players had been battling for position – and chucked it into the corner.

22. Preds beat Stars 2-0 for franchise-record 9th straight win -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Nashville Predators talk about everything and shy away from nothing.

Asked to recall a particularly memorable Peter Laviolette motivational moment, Predators defenseman Ryan Ellis travels back in time to the very first game of the 2014-15 season.

33. Fischer scores in OT, Coyotes beat Predators 3-2 -

It was just more than a decade ago that the Nashville Predators roared through the NHL regular season, compiling franchise-best totals of 51 victories and 110 points. 39. Turris gives Predators center depth to match anyone in NHL -

40. Top Middle Tennessee residential transactions for September 2017 -

47. Losing the Cup a big win for Preds fans -

The Nashville Predators’ unprecedented run to the Stanley Cup Final was gold for the franchise in more ways than one.

In two months of postseason hockey, the Predators played 11 home playoff games, almost two times the team’s previous single-season record.

48. Penguins end Predators magical postseason run -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Predators' amazing, improbable playoff run finally is over.

After capturing the hearts of Nashville's country music stars and tens of thousands more in and around Music City, Nashville's season ended at the hands of the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-0 in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final.

49. Predators on brink as Rinne struggles again in Pittsburgh -

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pekka Rinne's struggles in Pittsburgh have his Nashville Predators on the brink of elimination.

The Predators are hardly blaming Rinne for their predicament.

The Penguins overwhelmed Rinne again, sending Nashville's star goaltender to the bench in Pittsburgh for a second straight game in the Stanley Cup Final. He was pulled after the first period by coach Peter Laviolette after surrendering half the goals in a 6-0 rout by the Penguins in Game 5 on Thursday night.

50. Rinne, Malkin among contenders in wide-open Conn Smythe race -

Nashville coach Peter Laviolette was so concerned that Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin would take criticism to heart that he wanted everyone to stop talking about it.

No shots for the Pittsburgh Penguins' top stars in Game 3 led to one of Crosby's best games of the playoffs in Game 4, even though the Predators won it to even the Stanley Cup Final.

51. Blue mutt named Stanley set tone for Preds' attacking style -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The instant one of the Pittsburgh Penguins passes the puck to a teammate, one of the Nashville Predators closes in, taking away any time or space to operate.

The junkyard dog approach to hockey for the Stanley Cup Final debutants has a history: It is the Predators' on-ice version of Stanley, the blue mutt with a bone clenched between his teeth. He's the team mascot whose picture is stuck on the Predators' locker-room door, now with two bandages commemorating playoff-ending injuries first to forward Kevin Fiala, then center Ryan Johansen. The dog, its name tag hanging from a spiked collar, bares his teeth in photos on three walls inside, too.

52. Crosby has no time for Subban's games in Stanley Cup Final -

NASHVILLE (AP) — P.K. Subban says ask the Pittsburgh Penguins if he's getting under their skin. The All-Star defenseman only knows he apparently needs to work on his breath on the ice and loves the challenge of helping shut down Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.

53. All-Star promise: Subban says Preds will win Game 3 vs. Pens -

NASHVILLE (AP) — A good night's sleep has P.K. Subban more confident than ever about what the Nashville Predators will do on their own ice trailing the Pittsburgh Penguins 0-2 in the Stanley Cup Final.

54. Penguins wary, Predators confident as Game 2 looms -

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The winning team went nearly two full periods without a shot. The hottest goaltender in the playoffs was only tested 11 times in 58 minutes — and lost.

No wonder Pittsburgh Penguins coach Mike Sullivan described his team's 5-3 victory over Nashville in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final as "bizarre."

55. Preds encouraged despite Game 1 loss in Stanley Cup Final -

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The first period of their first Stanley Cup Final game was a rough one for the Nashville Predators. They had a goal waved off. They fell behind 3-0 and looked overmatched at times.

56. Guentzel's goal lifts Penguins by Predators 5-3 in Game 1 -

PITTSBURGH (AP) — This is what the Pittsburgh Penguins do. They find a way. Even on nights when they blow a three-goal lead, they go an entire period (and then some) without registering a single shot and the opponent is fresher, quicker and, for long stretches, demonstrably better.

57. Top 10 Predator moments (so far) of 2017 -

With the Predators preparing for their first trip to the Stanley Cup Final, it’s difficult to recall that this team began the playoffs with very few expectations six weeks ago.

In three playoff series’ since then, the eighth-seeded Preds have knocked off three higher seeds in the Western Conference – Chicago, St. Louis and Anaheim.

59. Preds rally, beat Ducks 2-1 to take 2-1 Western finals lead -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Nashville Predators are so confident right now that not even having two goals in eight seconds waved off for goaltender interference can shake them.

Especially not on home ice.

60. Preds, Pens, Sens, Ducks traded their way to NHL's final 4 -

Draft and develop is the most common way to win in the salary-cap NHL, and with eight of the past 11 playoff MVPs being homegrown, that hasn't changed.

But the four teams left vying for the Stanley Cup this spring — the Pittsburgh Penguins and Ottawa Senators in the East and Nashville Predators and Anaheim Ducks in the West — all made a handful of significant trades to get to this point. As much as general managers complain that it's hard to make deals because of the cap, Pittsburgh's Jim Rutherford, Ottawa's Bryan Murray and Pierre Dorion, Nashville's David Poile and Anaheim's Bob Murray have shown a knack for getting good ones done.

61. Ellis’ ‘silencer’ shots help Preds make playoff noise -

When it comes to describing Predators defenseman Ryan Ellis’ growth over the years, it’s easy to stop at the beard.

Orange in color, hemp-thick in texture and over five months in the works, Ellis’ man-mane falls from his chin like a hair curtain trying to cover the crest of his jersey.

The next challenge is to advance beyond the second round of the postseason, something none of the Predators’ nine previous playoff teams have done. They took a big step Wednesday night with a 4-3 second round win at St. Louis and will play Game 2 there Friday night.

68. The Old Man in the Crease -
