1. Owner of Nashville pediatric practice pleads guilty to fraud

NASHVILLE (AP) - The former owner of a Nashville pediatric practice has pleaded guilty to health care fraud and was ordered to pay $1.6 million in restitution and damages.
Acting U.S. Attorney David Rivera said in a release Friday that Edward "Eddie" Hamilton, who owned Centennial Pediatrics PC, was also barred from participating in federal health care programs for 20 years.

NASHVILLE (AP) - The U.S. Attorney's Office in Nashville says a concrete structures supplier has agreed to pay $664,000 to settle false claims charges.
Sherman-Dixie Concrete Industries, Inc., supplied concrete end walls and catch basins, typically used in highway construction. The company supplied the Tennessee Department of Transportation and acting U.S Attorney David Rivera said many of the construction projects were funded through the Federal Highway Administration.
