1. Board of Regents appoints new president of TCAT Murfreesboro -

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Board of Regents has appointed Jon D. Mandrell president of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Murfreesboro.

The board voted 12-0 to appoint Mandrell, who was recommended for the job by Chancellor Flora W. Tydings. He starts July 1.

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Board of Regents is planning a special meeting to consider a recommendation for a new president of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Murfreesboro.

The board said in a news release Monday that Chancellor Flora W. Tydings will recommend Jon D. Mandrell for the college's presidency at a May 30 meeting in Nashville.

7. VUMC’s Wilson, Kapu take leadership roles -

Two longtime Vanderbilt University Medical Center nurses are starting the year in new leadership positions with greater responsibilities for nursing education and advanced practice, respectively.

Chris Wilson, MSN, R.N., has been named director of Nursing Education and Professional Development. She previously held the position in the interim and was director of Clinical Education and Professional Development for Vanderbilt University Hospital.
