Franklin-based CapWealth Advisors has tapped former Goldman Sachs investment veteran John Lueken to lead its research efforts.

NASHVILLE (AP) — While Republican lawmakers in some states may have benefited from congressional redistricting, the changes had little effect in Tennessee.

Republicans were able to give themselves a built-in advantage in House elections by doing well in the statewide elections in many states, then gerrymandering congressional districts in key states after the 2010 census. The strategy may prove to be advantageous going into the 2014 midterm elections and beyond, regardless of the political climate in November.

A ceremony honoring the President and general will take place at 10 a.m. at Jackson’s tomb featuring Gov. Bill Haslam as keynote speaker. NASHVILLE (AP) - Republican lawmakers don't plan to divide Nashville among several congressional seats as some Democrats had feared, according to plans released Friday.

The redistricting plan, first obtained by The Associated Press, also indicates that the 4th District would be significantly redrawn to extend from Rutherford County on the outskirts of Nashville to Bradley County near Chattanooga.
