NASHVILLE (AP) — George Strait's trophy closet keeps getting more crowded. This time it was the performing rights organization ASCAP doing the honoring, giving Strait its Founder's Award.

Strait was honored Monday night in a star-studded celebration that included Garth Brooks, Lee Ann Womack and Alan Jackson singing tributes, and a rare session with reporters. The Founder's Award is given to songwriters and composers who have made "pioneering" contributions to music that have inspired others. DALLAS (AP) - Randy Travis is accused of driving while intoxicated and threatening to kill state troopers after the country singer crashed his car and was found naked and combative at the scene.

A mug shot released on Wednesday by the Grayson County Sheriff's Office shows a battered-looking Travis in a T-shirt, with a black eye and dried blood on his face. He later walked barefoot out of the county jail wearing scrubs and a University of Texas ball cap.

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is off to a fast start in its $75 million expansion campaign.

Officials said Thursday as they kicked off a public fundraising campaign that they've already received more than $56 million in commitments for an expansion that will more than double the size of the hall of fame. They announced plans to add more than 200,000 square feet of exhibit, classroom and archival space and an 800-seat theater.
